People can update MCS-150 forms online on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration website by selecting whether they wish to update a current registration or complete a required update, as of 2015. After choosing an update type, registrants can click on File Electronically and enter company identification information.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires that people enter company information such as U.S. Department of Transportation number, personal identification number, and name and title of the person authorized to fill out the MCS-150. The agency sends the PIN necessary to complete the online MCS-150 form by mail or email to people who have forgotten their company's number. A person who updates a registration online must provide a valid credit card number to act as his electronic signature, though the card will not be charged.
