Types of managerial reports include sales reports, expense reports, payroll reports and cash reports. The types of managerial reports a business uses are not limited and are up to management.
Sales reports give accountants a way to examine any discrepancies between actual and projected sales for any amount of time. Expense reports are easily generated and give the manager or accountant a way to track employee and operating expenses.
Payroll reports can be sorted by department or salary and can be used to determine where a company is investing its payroll. A cash report can be used in conjunction with or in place of a cash flow statement when management cannot wait until the end of the month to see where the money is going.
