As of January 2016, ARAG offers three legal insurance plans: Legal Now, Legal Protection and Legal Protection Plus, explains the company's website. Each plan comes with its own level of legal coverage regarding matters such as identity theft, divorce, caregiving, traffic tickets and identity theft. Some other legal concerns with which members can receive assistance include estate planning, consumer protection, auto repairs and buying, and buying or selling a home.
The Legal Now insurance plan has the lowest-coverage and is the least-expensive option, notes ARAG. Unlike the other two plans, which allow for monthly payment plans, Legal Now is a one-time-only plan good for six months after subscribers pay for the plan in full. Subscribers have entitlement to one direct phone call consultation with an attorney, a 25 percent reduction on in-network attorney fees, and access to do-it-yourself legal documents and the company's online legal library.
The Legal Protection plan provides many of the same benefits as the Legal Now plan but with the added bonus of being able to contact a network attorney multiple times, explains ARAG. Members pay a deductible for each separate legal issue, and the insurance fully covers the rest of the attorney's fees. Subscribers to the Legal Protection Plus plan also get financial counseling, caregiving services and referrals, and services and referrals for identity-theft-related issues.
