As of February 2015, Sears' product categories include appliances, automotive, baby, clothing and shoes, electronics, fitness, home, outdoor, parts, tools and toys. Sears' locations also typically have a pharmacy and a gifts section. Items can be purchased online or in-store.
Each of Sears' product categories has several sub-categories. For example, within appliances, Sears has refrigerators, washers and dryers, oven ranges, dishwashers and vacuums. When an item is purchased on Sears' website, it can be delivered to an address or picked up at a store. Sears' website offers several methods of saving money on its deals section, including limited time offers, clearance items, sales at local stores and online coupons. Users can also sign up for text message deal notifications.
Sears has a price matching policy that applies to both physical and online retail stores; however the online price matching does not apply to retailers that are only online. Sears also does not price match independent sellers listed on a company's website. To take advantage of Sears' price matching policy, the customer has to bring an advertisement for the product or the product's online ordering page. The price must be valid on the same date the product is purchased through Sears. If Sears is price matching an online retailer, the ordering page must publish the total cost including shipping and handling.
