A wide variety of homes are available on the Vancouver Multiple Listing Service (MLS), from period homes that were built beginning in the 1870s to contemporary homes that have been built in recent years. Homes are available in all price ranges and sizes, and some need no work done on them before moving in while others require extensive renovation, notes Realty Link.
There are about 20 period house styles, according to the Vancouver Heritage Society. These include Early Vernacular, Victorian, Queen Anne Revival, Early Cottage and Craftsman Bungalow. The foundation offers an interactive Heritage Site Finder that helps people learn more about specific addresses on the Vancouver Heritage Register. House hunters can use the register to gather information about properties they find on the MLS.
