How Do I Track a Parcel Post With USPS?

The United States Postal Service provides online resources to track items sent with the company. Each item sent is assigned a tracking number, which is listed on the label of the item. Depending on the shipping option you select, your tracking information will vary.

  1. Go to the USPS website

    Direct your browser to The "Quick Tools" to the left of the screen show a "Track" option.

  2. Enter the tracking number

    Enter your item's tracking number in the box below the "Track" option. You can enter up to 10 tracking numbers at a time.

  3. Receive tracking information

    After searching, the web page displays the tracking status of your item. If you shipped your item with Priority Mail Express, then the information includes point-by-point tracking information. Other services, such as Certified Mail and Registered Mail, show only when the item is sent for delivery.
