Full Answer

To track an item via Canada Post using the tracking number, first identify the tracking number, which is a 16-digit figure or a combination of 13 numbers and letters on the shipping receipt. Access the Canada Post website and select Track from the menu on the home page. Select By Tracking Number, type in the tracking number and click on Track.

To track the item using a reference number, select Track from the menu on the home page of Canada Post's website. Now, click on By Reference Number, and type in the figure in the field provided. Enter the date of shipping and expected date of arrival; this is necessary to avoid duplication of the reference number as it is selected by shippers. Click on Track.

To track the item using the delivery card notice number, select By Delivery Card Notice Number after clicking on Track in the Canada Post website. Enter the delivery card number, which is a 15-digit figure present at the bottom of the delivery card notice. Finally, click on Track.
