Brothers Ernest and Bishop Bonar Anderson established Anderson Brothers Bank in 1933 to provide for the needs of several tobacco warehousemen from Mullins who required assistance in financing the Mullins tobacco market. The services that they provided may have prevented the small town from fading away; families would go to town to sell their loads of tobacco, and provided business for local companies during such trips. Gradually, the town grew as these families purchased farming equipment, clothing and other key goods.
As of 2015, Anderson Brothers Bank is run by Ernest's grandsons David, Neal and Tommy. Ernest's great-grandsons Rivers and Taylor also work for the bank as loan officers.
