Some top neurosurgeons in the United States include Dr. Mark H. Bilsky, Dr. Philip E. Stieg and Dr. James S. Harrop. Stieg chairs the department of neurosurgery and is the neurosurgeon-in-chief at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center. Bilsky features on the 2006 to 2014 list of America’s Top Doctors, a designation from Castle Connolly, and the New York Magazine names him as one of the top doctors serving in the state. As of 2015, he has been part of roughly 76 scholarly publications and presentations. His affiliations include the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and he is one of seven neurological surgeons at New York Downtown Hospital, reports U.S. News & World Report.
Harrop is a board-certified professor of neurological surgery. He is also the director of the Division of Spine and Peripheral Nerve Disorders at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Besides engaging in neurosurgical management of spine trauma and spine oncology, which involves tumors and neoplasms, he lectures on the subject of neurosurgery and spine treatment in various states, says the Thomas Jefferson University. He is an editorial board member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Quarterly.
