As of 2015, subscribers must send a letter of intent to cancel to Delta Dental at least 30 days before they want to terminate coverage, according to Delta Dental. Subscriptions terminate on or about the first day of the month after Delta Dental receives the letter.
For example, a subscriber requesting termination as of May 1 must send a written request that Delta Dental receives on or before March 31. Subscribers who terminate their coverage are not eligible to enroll in an individual dental plan during the 12-month period after the termination and may be subject to waiting periods, notes Delta Dental. The organization recommends that subscribers with questions call the customer service team via the toll free number.
