The Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund is a foundation that provides underprivileged children who are hospitalized at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital with toys, medication, medical equipment, interpreters and clothing. The fund also helps the families of these children with other special needs, such as transportation, hotel costs and food.
The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital provides specialized treatment to children with cancer, neurological disorders and heart problems, among other things. Dr. Glogau and his wife, Mrs. Baj, established the Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund to thank the hospital for caring for and treating their son, who had serious orthopedic problems. The Glogau Teddy Bear Rescue Fund organizes an annual benefit called the Snuggly Soiree, and the 2015 edition of this event raised over $250,000.
