To survive nursing school, you must manage your time, take care of yourself, study and take advantage of the knowledge of your professors. With dedication and hard work, you can persevere and complete your degree.

  1. Manage your time efficiently

Nursing school brings deadlines, projects and clinical schedules. To survive and thrive, you must manage your time efficiently. Learn to balance class, studying, lab work and clinical time with time for rest and recovery of your body and mind.

  2. Take care of yourself

You must exercise, eat well, drink plenty of water, sleep and spend time with people you love. Dealing with the burden of nursing school and successfully completing your education requires devoting attention to yourself.

  3. Study smarter and harder

You will have to study hard to make it through nursing school. Hit the books every day. Go to every study session, study group and answer session you can. Studying not only prepares you for your school exams, but it also gets you ready for your state boards and career.

  4. Utilize your professors and advisers

If you are struggling, do not put off visiting with your professors or advisers. Let them help you catch up or come up with a plan to succeed. Don't forget to take advantage of any open-study time with professors, which can help you absorb even more information pertinent to your education.
