Walgreens does not offer a direct link for sales ad subscriptions, but customers can sign up for special deals by inputting an email address in the company's online form. The company uploads a digital copy of its weekly sales ad on its website.
Customers can enroll in a paperless coupon program by requesting a Balance Rewards card. Enrollment is free, but American shoppers must be at least 13 years old to join. Customers can enroll online or register in person at any Walgreens. The company only provides a physical card to shoppers who enroll in a store, but members who enroll online can visit a store and request a physical card.
Shoppers can combine the paperless coupons loaded on the Balance Rewards cards with manufacturer coupons and in-store promotions. After a purchase, some points are credited immediately. Points earned for purchases from the pharmacy department may take up to 24 hours to show up on the card.
Customers can redeem points for in-store and online discounts after they reach the minimum threshold, which is 5,000 points as of April 2015. The maximum redemption for one transaction is 40,000 points, which is the cash equivalent of $50. Points expire after three years.
