Target and Macy’s are some stores that carry XOXO brand clothing. Macy’s provides a variety of XOXO clothing for women, such as skirts and jackets. Target also provides a large collection of XOXO dresses for customers to choose from. As of 2015, XOXO is also available internationally and in most major department stores in the United States. Online stores, such as Amazon.com and 6pm.com, also offer a selection of XOXO products.
XOXO is a brand created with a $50,000 investment by Greg Fiene in 1991. It is one of the first contemporary clothing lines for teens made available at affordable prices. With the brand being targeted for young teenagers, the name XOXO, meaning hugs and kisses, provided a feminine feel to the collection. In 1999, Fiene sold the brand for $20 million to Aris Industries and left the company four years later. In July 2003, Global Brand Holdings acquired XOXO, and its apparel lines were licensed to Kellwood Co.
The XOXO brand later introduced a collection of licensed products, such as sunglasses and jewelry. In 2009, the brand re-launched its website, administered by Kellwood, and offered information for its various events. With the company’s new growth a few celebrities began appearing in public wearing the brand, including Amy Jackson and Brooke White.
