Stansberry’s Investment Advisory is a monthly newsletter written by Stansberry & Associates Investment Research, an American publishing company. The newsletter was launched by the company’s founder, Porter Stansberry, and serves as an information resource focused primarily on economic trends in several major markets.
Launched in 1999, Stansberry’s Investment Advisory offers to provide accurate economic insights. The newsletter focuses on several large markets, ranging from technology and real estate to natural resources and the automotive industry. The publication intends to keep its readers abreast of promising trends as well as the potential financial pitfalls that investors should avoid. Only subscribers have acccess to this information, and the current price in the United States is $149.
Despite the reputation boasted on the site itself, the company and its credibility came into question when Porter Stansberry was accused of fraud by the Securities Exchange Commission in 2003. This cost the company over $1 million in fines and money paid back to subscribers who had been given what was reported as deliberately fraudulent investment advice. In spite of this, the company maintained many of its supporters throughout the SEC suit, and Stansberry’s Investment Advisory maintains hundreds of thousands of subscribers in over 100 countries around the world as of 2015.
