In 1989, the Sony Corporation entered the movie industry with the acquisition of Columbia Pictures, Inc. Sony went on to make mega Hollywood blockbusters such as “Men in Black,” “Skyfall” and “Spider-Man.” It eventually started making TV shows as well and is responsible for several hit series such as “The Dr. Oz Show” and “Breaking Bad.” Some of Sony's TV shows have long run times, including “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!”
In 2006, Sony launched its PlayStation Network, which is part of its Sony Entertainment Network. This service allows gamers to connect to one another from all over the world through their PlayStation consoles. At the time, it was considered one of the best online gaming services on the market.
