The Trulia search field allows users to search the desired home location by typing the city name or zip code into the field and clicking the Search button. To ensure the search results include only single-family homes, find the grey filter switches that appear horizontally below the search field, click on the filter switch for Property Type and make sure the Single Family Homes box is checked. Trulia allows the searcher to filter results by number of bedrooms, monthly rent amount, home size and number of bathrooms. Access a wide array of additional filters through the All Filters button to the far right of the five grey filter switches.

Once a user searches the desired city or zip code, he can see the exact location of each property by clicking the Map link immediately below the filter switches. When the map is accessed, the user can further limit the search results to a particular portion of the map with the Draw Your Search function accessible at the top right of the map. Once the user draws the borders of the desired portion of the map, a list of properties situated within those boundaries is accessed by clicking the List link below the filter switches. Each property listing on Trulia provides a wealth of information, including photos, neighborhood features, nearby school ratings, crime rates and contact information for the relevant real estate agent.
