How Do You Sign up for a United Health Care Plan?

Signing up for a United Health Care (UHC) plan requires basic personal information to search available plans and then either using the "Apply Now" link next to the desired plan or by calling the toll-free number listed on the UHC website. Plans are available for individuals, couples, families and employers.

The steps for locating, comparing and signing up for a UHC plan can be done directly from the UHC website. Those interested in signing up or shopping for a health care plan can follow the steps below.

  1. Enter age and location
  2. On the main page, enter the age and the zip code and county of the one who requires the insurance and click "Let's Get Started" to move on to the next step.

  3. Start the plan shopping
  4. Click "Shop for Plans" to sign up for a plan on the site. For those interested in Medicaid benefits, click "Learn about Medicaid."

  5. Enter more information
  6. Enter birth date, gender, tobacco use and annual income in the appropriate boxes to see the best matched plans.

  7. Add family members
  8. If any family members are required to be included in the plan, click the "Add Family Member" and include the information required. When all family members are included, click "View Plans".

  9. Compare plans
  10. Compare the plans displayed by looking at the plan details or clicking the "Compare" box next to the plan to see several plans compared side by side.
