Customers must have a checking, savings, money market, credit card, line of credit or loan account with SunTrust to qualify for online banking. These accounts may be opened online.

Once a customer is registered for online banking, he can access and manage his account 24 hours per day. Available online services include checking account balances, transferring money between SunTrust accounts or to other U.S. banks, paying bills, reviewing bank statements and opting out of paper statements, as well as signing up to receive electronic statements of bills.

Customers can also sign up for mobile banking to manage their account information from a mobile device. SunTrust mobile banking is free, but fees may apply for transferring money to other financial institutions.
