Full Answer

Barclays Bank is an online bank that offers a few different savings account options. The Dream Account is an online savings account that offers customers bonuses for making smart savings decisions. The minor savings account is an online account that children under the age of 18 can hold as long as there is an adult joint account holder. Barclays Bank does not charge fees to customers who hold accounts through the bank, although customers who initiate an early withdrawal of CDs or have insufficient funds may see fees assessed to their accounts.

Barclays Bank offers customers direct deposit and remote deposit. Direct deposit is set up through a customer's external bank account, while remote deposit is an easy way for customers to make deposits from home using their PC scanner or their Android, BlackBerry or iPhone. To make the remote deposit, the customer simply scans the front and back of his check, or if he is using his phone, takes photos of the front and back of the check. The images are securely processed, and any checks deposited after 3 p.m. Eastern time are not processed until the next business day.
