GM cardholders benefit by earning 5 percent on the first $5,000 in purchases each year and 2 percent on all additional purchases. Cardholders may use their earnings, which never expire, toward a new GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac or Buick vehicle, explains Capital One. Other benefits of the GM card, which is, as of 2016, called the BuyPower Card, include no annual fee and no limit on how much cardholders can earn or redeem.
The BuyPower Card also offers World Elite MasterCard benefits and services, such as $1 million in travel accident insurance for the cardholder and his family when he purchases travel tickets with a BuyPower Card, according to Capital One. Through its MasterRental Insurance program, World Elite MasterCard pays for certain damages to a rental vehicle when the cardholder declines coverage through the rental company and uses the BuyPower Card to pay for the entire rental. BuyPower cardholders also enjoy concierge service, which provides cardholders assistance with tickets, dinner and event reservations and buying and delivering gifts.
BuyPower cardholders also enjoy many other benefits, including identity theft resolution services, price protection, trip cancellation service and MasterCard global service, which provides emergency assistance from almost anywhere, states Capital One. The BuyPower Card also provides many travel benefits, including airport concierge service, complimentary upgrades and premium travel offers.
