Several companies sell steel buildings in the United States, including Factory Steel Overstock, ProBuilt Steel Buildings, MBMI Metal Buildings, Alan's Factory Outlet and Armstrong Steel. Each company has different varieties and styles of buildings, as of April 2015.
Factory Steel Overstock has package deals, and the company claims customers pay $595 above the wholesale cost of the actual building. The smallest building offered is 30 feet wide, 34 feet long and 14 feet tall and costs approximately $8,500. The largest steel building sold by Factory Steel Overstock measures 60 feet wide, 100 feet long and 16 feet tall.
ProBuilt Steel Buildings sells six different types of steel buildings such as carports, motorhome covers, garages, barns and utility buildings. Potential customers use the Get a Quote feature on the company's website to choose a building style, a building size, number walls and a door to see how much a building costs. The company then requests contact information from customers to continue with the sales process.
MBMI sells several types of steel buildings, some of which require interior support columns. The largest building measures 150 feet wide, 250 feet long and 16 feet tall, with or without columns, depending on the construction method. These buildings have been constructed to withstand hurricane-force winds that customers may experience in areas such as Dade and Broward Counties in Florida.
