The RushCard is a prepaid card that allows people to obtain their money up to two days in advance through the Direct Deposit feature and use the card anywhere a Visa debit card is accepted, explains its official website. The application does not require a credit check or minimum balance.
RushCard users can load their cards at numerous retail locations throughout the United States and monitor their funds through text notifications, says the website. Cardholders can also load a check by logging in to the RushCard mobile app or in person by visiting any participating Walmart store. Moreover, the mobile app allows cardholders to check their balance, review transactions and transfer money. RushCard offers protection through its fraud detection and Visa Zero Liability policy, which protects funds if a card is lost or stolen.
As of 2015, the Rush Unlimited Plan provides unlimited signature and PIN transactions for a $7.95 monthly fee, while the Pay As You Go Plan requires cardholders to pay $1 for every purchase, according to the website. Rush Unlimited Plan users who enroll in Direct Deposit pay $5.95 per month. Applicants receive their card within seven to 10 days after the ID verification process. Cardholders can start using their cards once they set a PIN and load their cards with cash.
