LePage started in the real estate business by branding himself as The Bungalo Specialist in July 1913 before expanding to the construction business in 1918. He is also credited with being a founding member of the Toronto Real Estate Board. Royal LePage Real Estate became a publicly traded company in 1987 and began offering franchise opportunities in 1994. In 1995, the company became the first real estate agency in Canada to offer an online real estate portal.
