What Are the Responsibilities of the Marketing Department?

The marketing department helps to promote and build awareness about a company, its products and its services. The department also works with internal stakeholders, like the sales team, to provide tools to help them do their jobs better.

The marketing department is typically led by a vice president or a director. This person is responsible for reviewing the business strategy and objectives of an organization and determining which marketing tactics make the most sense to help the company meet these goals. The team may also include content developers, social media managers, marketing analysts, business development representatives, website designers and product-specific marketing personnel.
