As of 2015, the store chain operates over 190 stores in 16 states including Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana and Kentucky. There are also Ollie's stores in Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and North Carolina. Rounding out the list of states with Ollie's stores are Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
The company's two distribution centers are located in York, PA, and Commerce, GA. The first Ollie's Bargain Outlet opened in Mechanicsburg, PA, in 1982. The second opened in Harrisburg, PA, later that same year. The brand expanded over time and opened its 100th store in 2011. The brand is named after one of the store's founders, Oliver "Ollie" Rosenberg.
Ollie's sells discontinued, damaged, salvaged or otherwise liquidated merchandise from major retailers at up to 70% off retail prices. The store offers items in many departments including house wares, clothing, sporting goods, electronics and food. Advertising "good stuff cheap," Ollie's describes its stores as "semi-lovely."
Ollie's Bargain Outlet offers a customer loyalty program, "Ollie's Army," where customers receive discounts and earn a point for every dollar spent, with a 10% discount offered upon accruing 250 points.
