What Is a Referee's Super Bowl Salary?

The salaries of NFL referees are not made public. A report by Tim Polzer for NFL Insider claimed that the referees for Super Bowl XXXV made $11,900 just for that game.

The average referee yearly salary is about $173,000, and referees make varying amounts of money, depending on their experience and tenure. However, since referees work 16 games in the regular season, and since it is known that the pay per game is increased for playoff referees, who are selected from the ranks of the most experienced, it is reasonable to assume that referees who work the Super Bowl make in excess of $10,000 for it.
