The Polo Ralph Lauren logo is an image of a polo player, holding up a mallet, while sitting on a horse. This flagship brand logo was first seen in 1969.
Around that time, Mr. Lauren had bought a boutique store inside New York's famed Bloomingdale's. He had started his career with menswear. However, around that time he released a line of men's styled tailored suits for women. The first time he used the logo was on the cuff of the suit. By 1971, he had launched his first women's clothing line, and his first stand-alone store, which opened in Beverly Hills, California.
