A number of prepaid Visa card issuers offer the ability to perform online balance checking. As of 2015, some of the issuers and companies offering this service include MetaBank, the Bancorp Bank and Walmart.
Walmart offers reloadable MoneyCard prepaid Visa cards via Green Dot Bank. By logging into an online account, one can check the card's balance, review the transactions that recently posted and review benefits associated with the card. Some MoneyCards also allow paying of bills using online bill bay or sending money to friends and family in the United States online.
Prepaid Visa cards issued by MetaBank can be checked online. On the My Prepaid Balance website, one can access current balance information by entering the card number, expiration date, the security code and a verification code, then clicking on the Get Balance button. Creating a profile on the website allows for additional web-based features like managing cards, setting up direct deposit, reviewing transaction history or reloading a card.
OneVanilla prepaid cards, issued by the Bancorp bank, are sold at many retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General, 7-Eleven and Walmart. These cards can be loaded with amounts in-between $20 and $500. The current balance of a OneVanilla card can be verified on the OneVanilla website by entering the card number, expiration date, security code and clicking on the Submit button.
