Once you have completed the application, it takes seven to 10 business days for it to arrive. The card arrives with instructions on how to activate it. After following the instructions, the card should immediately be active. In the event that the card does not work after following the activation instructions, contact PNC by phone or go to a local branch to remedy the situation.
In addition to receiving your card, you also receive a PNC user ID and PIN, either through the mail or immediately online. This information allows you to view your current account balance online and keeps track of your purchases. If you don't receive this information or cannot access your account to see how much money is on your PNC smart card, contact PNC immediately.
A PNC Prepaid card is different from a standard debit card in that it is not directly tied to a checking or savings account. Because it has no connection a bank account, there is no possibility of incurring any overdraft fees.Learn more about Personal Banking
