Shoppers for health plans can choose to avail of a health savings account when they purchase the Choice HDHP medical insurance. Wellness and High Premium participants, meanwhile, have the option to register for a flex spending account. As of July 2015, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield delivers pharmacy benefits to Choice HDHP policyholders, while VRx Pharmacy Services provides coverage in the same category for High Premium and Wellness members.

The Choice HDHP, Wellness and High Premium medical insurance plans are administered through two health insurance provider networks: Preferred ValueCare Network and Participating Network. As of 2015, the Preferred ValueCare Network enables members to get coverage from 40 hospitals in Utah, including Cache Valley Specialty Hospital and University of Utah Hospital. Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield and Utah State University have contracted with 49 local hospitals to provide medical benefits for employee members under the Participating Network option.

Other health insurance plans administered by Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield include the Uniform Medical Classic Plan and Uniform Medical Consumer-Directed Health Plan, states the University of Washington. These two medical and dental insurance plans are available for faculty members, staff and librarians working at the University of Washington.
