Taxpayers can fill out the forms directly online or print and mail them, states the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. The forms include built-in calculator tools and are available to all full-time Pennsylvania residents and taxpayers with resident credits or a K-1 form. Taxpayers who have filed their federal returns can file Form PA-40 online for free using the fillable forms. Taxpayers who report a federal adjusted gross income of $60,000 or less are also eligible for free third-party filing services, with a link to these vendors available under Online Services.
