PECO Energy is an energy provider based in Philadelphia, and it is the name, as of 2015, of the former Philadelphia Electric Company. As of 2015, the company serves the southeastern Pennsylvania area by providing energy to about 1.6 million electric customers and more than 500,000 natural gas customers.
PECO Energy developed out of the Brush Electric Light Company of Philadelphia and was incorporated in 1902. As of 2015, the company provides both electric and gas services to customers of parts of Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties, as well as electric-only services to customers in parts of York county.
Since PECO is an Exelon company, the team that oversees PECO Energy includes the Senior Executive Vice President of Exelon Corporation and the CEO of Exelon Utilities, as well as the Executive Vice President of Exelon and the President and CEO of PECO.
