United Airlines offers special benefits to MileagePlus members who choose to redeem frequent flyer miles through one of its 26 Star Alliance partners. These partners, which include airlines such as Avianca, Adria and Turkish Airlines, combine their loyalty programs with that of United Airlines. This allows MileagePlus members to both earn and spend their miles on any eligible services from those airlines in the same manner as they would from United Airlines.
Other worldwide partners such as Cape Air, Jet Airways and Edelweiss Air require MileagePlus members to book through United Airlines to ensure that eligible frequent flyer miles rewards are accumulated. MileagePlus members can earn more award miles through Star Alliance airlines than with other worldwide partners. Some of the Star Alliance airlines offer award miles based on the price of the ticket purchased in addition to the purchased fare class. Additionally, Star Alliance members offer travelers special benefits according to MileagePlus status, with Premier Platinum and Premier 1K member statuses earning far more miles than regular membership.Learn more about Corporations
