Organizations that maintain directories of beekeepers include national groups such as the American Beekeeping Federation and state associations such as the Oregon State Beekeepers Association. In some areas, local clubs such as the Ashe County Beekeepers Association in North Carolina also compile membership lists.
Many beekeeper directories and membership lists are only accessible to members of the participating organization. Local citizens and businesses in need of a beekeeper to remove and relocate bees can usually contact the relevant organization to get a recommendation. Beekeeper membership organizations sometimes also maintain a separate public list of beekeepers who sell beeswax and honey to individual customers or wholesalers. Some beekeeper organizations that maintain a membership directory also offer training and certification for people interested in becoming beekeepers.
