Stand Up for Kids provides services to homeless youth such as street outreach, drop-in centers and alternative schools. The street outreach program helps provide homeless youth with basic essentials such as food, clothing and information to help them get the resources to meet their basic needs. There are drop-in centers scattered throughout the nation that also provide these valuable services, plus access to showers and computers. The alternative schools provide much needed provisions so homeless youth stay in school.
Covenant House also have many centers located throughout the country. This organization immediately meets the basic needs of kids in crisis and provides them with a sanctuary where they may feel safe. Covenant House also feels that it is important to give these homeless children stability so they will build confidence within themselves.
The National Coalition for the Homeless are involved in a national campaign calling for the federal government to provide immediate access to safe shelter for all young people, ages 24 and under.
