Oklahoma State University's Environmental Health and Safety department provides a large list of online sources for material safety data sheets. Resources listed include databases maintained by other universities and manufacturers' safety data sheets. Resources carrying information on specific chemicals are also available, according to Oklahoma State University.
MSDSonline stocks a database of millions of material safety data sheets on hazardous substances such as acetone, methanol and hydrochloric acid. Users can search for safety data sheets by product name, manufacturer or product code. However, to view or print the safety data sheets, users must register for an account, as MSDSonline explains. Free trials are available to check out the database.
