In administering a self-employee evaluation, it is important to be honest while emphasizing the biggest accomplishments from the year. Weaknesses or challenges should be addressed, but position it as areas where the employee would like to improve.
The self-employee review should focus entirely on the employee. While most people have a natural tendency to highlight other people, it needs to reflect what the employee has done over the year. In addition, the employee needs to remember that this review serves as the catalyst that determines if they get a raise or promotion so they should position themselves in the best light with specific and authentic examples while still being honest about areas where they can improve.
