NIMS IS-800.B is an independent study course offered by FEMA's Emergency Management Institute, titled National Response Framework, An Introduction. The Emergency Management Institute collaborated with other government agencies to create the NIMS courses, which adhere to new requirements in the National Incident Management System.
IS-800.B was introduced on Feb. 4, 2008. The course provides an introduction to the core concepts and principles of the National Response Framework, and is intended for government executives, leaders of nongovernmental organizations, emergency management practitioners and leaders in the private sector. Topics include the purpose and response doctrine of the National Response Framework as well as the roles of responsible entities specified in the National Response Framework.
