Following their initial application, online applicants for a President's Choice, or PC, bank account are required to pass a credit assessment and have their income verified as well as sign an agreement that will be sent through the mail. People applying for a credit product will also need to pass a credit bureau check. All applicants will need to present personal identification to the bank while they wait for their application to be processed.
There are two ways for new customers to identify themselves to President's Choice Financial. The first, which should be done no sooner than 1 business day after submitting the application, is to present two valid forms of identification in person at a local PC pavilion. Generally speaking, valid forms of identification in Canada include provincial or territorial driver's licenses and non-driver's licenses, military identification, certificates of Indian status, employee identification cards and passports. Other federal, provincial or territorial identification cards are also acceptable. It is recommended to ensure that at least one of the two forms of identification presented at the bank is a government-issued photo ID.
The second way for new customers to identify themselves to the bank is to simply await their welcome kit and follow the instructions contained within it. This will involve sending a personal preprinted check from an account with another Canadian financial institution.
