Nannies may either live in the household or come to work daily for a specified amount of hours. Sometimes, the job involves cooking for the children and cleaning up after them, but in some households that employ a cook or a housekeeper, the nanny is strictly responsible for looking after the children.
Full-time nannies typically take the children to school and to all of their after-school activities and appointments. They also may help with homework and organize activities such play dates and parties. Some nannies do laundry as well. Part-time nannies may only be responsible for dropping off or picking up kids from school and supervising homework or chores before the parents come home.
Some nanny positions involve traveling with the family. In such cases, parents may expect the nanny to keep the children occupied and entertained while the parents either tend to work duties or spend some time on their own.Learn more about Career Aspirations
