According to economist Julianne Malveaux who was quoted by MSNBC, most Walmart workers are only scheduled for 24 to 26 hours per week. This makes their pay check less than it would be with full-time hours, and it means that Walmart does not have to pay unemployment insurance if they are asked to leave their job.
