How Much Money Does an NBA Player Make?

The average salary of an NBA player for the 2013-14 season is $3,842,995 while the median salary is $1,945,860. This figure, however, is contingent on the contract the player signed with his team.

Based on the Collective Bargaining agreement, there is also a minimum player salary based on tenure that increases with years of experience. For example, a rookie player is guaranteed a minimum annual salary of $490,180 while a veteran with 10-plus years of service must be paid at least $1,399,507 per year. The league's highest-paid player for the 2013-14 season is the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant, whose contract pays him $30,453,805.
