According to the Orlando Sentinel, arena football players made $400 per game in 2011. Each team is allowed to designate up to four marketing players who earn $1,000 per game.
There are 18 games in an arena football season. If a player shows up to play at all of these games, he earns $7,200 per season, and the marketing players earn $18,000 per season.
In addition to their salaries, Arena Football League players receive food and housing allowances. Often, this means they have no rent or grocery bills to pay because the allowance is enough to cover those expenses, including utilities.
