The Center for Guided Montessori Studies provides certification at the infant and toddler, early childhood and elementary levels. As of 2015, estimated tuition costs for an associate certificate range from $5,000 to $7,000. Estimated costs for a full certificate are from $7,000 to $9,000. The center also offers professional development courses for Montessori teachers and assistants to earn continuing education units.
The United Montessori Association offered the first online certification program in 1999. Students can earn a certificate for the primary age level, 3 to 6 years old. The program duration is nine to 12 months, and the course fee is about $3,000. Students may join the program at any one of the three quarterly dates for admission: Oct. 15, Jan. 15 and April 15.
The North American Montessori Center provides certification at all four educational levels: infant and toddler, early childhood, lower elementary, and upper elementary. Students in all four programs receive the center's curriculum manuals for use in the classroom after completing the program.
