There are more than 600 Hobby Lobby stores located across the United States as of 2015. Stores offer more than 70,000 products, including supplies for arts, crafts and hobbies as well as home décor, seasonal and holiday items.
Barbara and David Green opened the first Hobby Lobby in 1972 after a couple of years of making miniature picture frames in the family’s garage. The original store comprised just 300 square feet; today’s store average around 55,000 square feet. The company is included in the list of America’s largest private companies by Forbes and bears the distinction of carrying no long-term debt.
