Residential customers also have the option of making a one-time payment through the Speedpay website. Payments are applied via a checking account, debit card, Master Card, Visa, Discover or American Express card. As of 2015, there is a $2 fee for residential customers to use the Speedpay service, which is provided by a third party.
With an online account through Baltimore Gas and Electric, customers can receive bill-ready notifications and schedule BGE payments through the company's mobile website. Customers can also access their billing history. Other options for online payments include myCheckFree.com and payments through a banking institution's website.
If there is a past-due balance due to financial issues, a customer may consider a payment plan. This plan allows the customer to bring his account up-to-date and pay the current month's charges. To qualify, he must have an active residential account, and the service cannot have been turned off for nonpayment.
