Anyone who wants to become a regular HSUS supporter and a Humane Hero may donate through the Monthly Giving Program, where he authorizes HSUS to charge his credit card for a specific dollar amount each month. The HSUS accepts any dollar amount, and taxpayers can deduct the contributions for tax purposes. Monthly donators can also receive the HSUS supporter shirt and get a free subscription to the All Animals magazine. Those who make a one-time gift donation of $25 are also eligible to receive the free All Animals magazine subscription as of 2015. The HSUS allows animal lovers to make monetary gift donations in honor of pets, relatives and friends. With a minimum of $10 gift donation to the HSUS, the organization sends a personalized greeting card to the gift recipient, and both the donor and the recipient receive a one-year All Animals' subscription.

Aside from monetary donations, the HSUS accepts used vehicle donations. HSUS sells the donated car at auction, and part of the proceeds is donated to the animal program of the HSUS. Individuals can also help the HSUS by becoming members of the society and by raising funds for animals.
