Puerto Rico has many major hospitals, but some of the largest are Hospital Auxilio Mutual, Hima-San Pablo Hospital-Bayamon, Dr. Alejandro Otero Lopez Hospital and Hospital Pavia Santurce, according to the American Hospital Directory. Each of these hospitals has a gross patient revenue above $100 million.
Other major hospitals in Puerto Rico are University District Hospital, University of Puerto Rico Hospital, Doctors' Center Hospital, Wilma N. Vasquez and Hospital De Damas. Each of these hospitals keeps over 150 beds staffed throughout the year, according to Hospital-Data.com.
San Juan Municipal Hospital is another major hospital, but it's often overlooked due to its nonprofit nature and lack of patient revenue each year.
