On average, Youth Protection training online takes an hour or two to complete depending on the individual. Youth Protection training is a requirement for all Boys Scouts of America. The training must be taken every two years. Anyone, both members and non-members of BSA, can access online youth protection training.
Members must ensure that their Youth Protection training record is up to date; otherwise, they cannot be re-registered. As of June 2010, all registered adult volunteers are required to complete Youth Protection training before they can begin their volunteer service.
BSA's policy mandates all registered adult volunteers, irrespective of their positions, to complete Youth Protection training.
